I hold a BA (Hons) in Business Studies and a Post graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Dublin Counselling and Therapy Centre. I work from a humanistic and integrative approach.
Humanistic and Integrative psychotherapy is about integrating the wholeness of being. This involves connecting or reconnecting to all aspects of the self: body, emotions, psyche, intellect, spirit and social interaction. It is about working towards greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, and personal growth in order to cope with the dimensions of human existence.
In a confidential environment, I facilitate the support and a safe space for clients to explore and develop an understanding of their feelings and thoughts. Combining past and present experiences, mindfulness, self care and greater body awareness.
I incorporate dream work into my practice to help clients access their unconscious, to circumvent their defenses to reach deeper levels of self awareness.
I have training in a number of approaches including person centred, psychodynamic, gestalt, mindfulness, existential and transpersonal therapy. I draw on these approaches as appropriate to the client. I work in private practice and I am experienced in working with a broad range of issues.
