Theresa Hurst successfully provides workplace counselling for leading EAP providers, Inspire Workplaces, Optum (VHI) and Spectrum (Laya Healthcare). The Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) are employee benefit programmes offered by many employers. EAP is intended to help employees deal with personal problems that might adversely impact their work performance, health and wellbeing. EAP provides short-term, solution-focused counselling for employees.
The employee engages with my service for a fixed number of sessions, typically between 6-8 sessions. Due to its brief nature, EAP is of specific interest to companies committed to supporting employees through life’s various transitions and crises.
To find out if you have an EAP counselling service in your company or organisation, contact your HR department or look out for EAP signage in your organisation. You will them be provided with a confidential helpline number where a clinical case manager will take your information an assign you to a local EAP Counsellor.
